Bayside, located in Queens, New York City, is a neighborhood with boundaries including Whitestone to the northwest, Long Island Sound and Little Neck Bay to the northeast, Douglaston to the east, Oakland Gardens to the south, and Fresh Meadows to the west. It’s recognized for being one of the priciest housing markets nationally, boasting detached homes. Despite its numerous free-standing homes, it maintains a high population density. With origins dating back to 1798, Bayside’s history includes its role as a rural resort for Manhattan’s wealthy during the 19th century. The area gained prominence during the 1920s and 1930s due to movie studios in Astoria and celebrity residents in Bayside. Post-World War II, residential development soared, thanks to its Long Island Rail Road’s Port Washington Branch station offering easy Manhattan commutes. Today, Bayside features eateries with cuisines from around the world. A wonderful place to experience.
